anonymous will be a 44 minute digital film, simple and straightforward on the surface, but ultimately layered with shifting, uncertain nuances. It might better be titled ambiguous. It’s like a prolonged, delirious pit-stop in a road movie. A place in a dream where you suddenly feel anchored yet disconnected.
anonymous is a cross-section of stories, a mélange of unsettled characters, investigating intimacy, solitude and yearning. Love, desire, sex, friendship, aggression, denial, illusions, art, spirituality, salvation, power, birth and death are some of the themes and motives impacting the lives in this developing yarn.

Jane
32. Both childlike and discriminating, her rebellious quest to appease her desires and rediscover herself doesn't turn out the way it does in the movies. She begins by leaving her husband and returning to the town she fled years ago. Jane at once resists and submits to her past, what it stands for, and who she is.
Len
31. An easy-going guy who thought he could accommodate Jane without really understanding her. And once she leaves him, Len is disjointed, out-of-step with reality. Despite having bubbly young Alice around, Len continues to brood, surrendering to the gap.
Alice
18. A smart, generous and adventurous high-school girl; young enough to take chances, wise enough to protect herself. Alice proves she can accommodate a long-term relationship, while young enough to be happy with temporary experiences.
Pam
39. Jane's foil. An Art Gallery owner. A prudent, tough-as-nails exterior shields her desires. Like Jane, lonely and unfulfilled, Pam is otherwise hardened and imperious. She can see through everyone. Stoic to the end.
Darcy
21. A conceited, playfully seductive, intuitive man who enjoys succeeding on his charm and sexuality. A throwback to the aloof romantic drifter, free from the confines of commitment and materialism. Brimming with blunt charisma and blind to his own tragic inevitability.

Minister
58. A prominent, compelling, narrowly compassionate evangelical clergyman.
Maggie
59. Jane’s mother. A highly conventional and faithful churchgoer; jovial, chatty, domineering, shrewd .
Andy
33. A buttoned-up church-going fellow; unimpressive and uncomplicated, .
Matthew
9. A quiet and withdrawn young boy. Possibly an illusion.
Anon
Strange. Age and real name unknown.

Tennille Reid
|
Tennile has played a principle character in several films including the the features Out Here and Versus Ivan. She was originally cast to play the lead female role in 11 Days with Ivan but had to back down due to personal reasons.
“I love the overlap of stories that progressively become clearer as the script unfolds. The connections and parallels of each of the characters to Jane is interesting and clever. I think her character would be a wonderful challenge to translate for an actor.” |

Geoff Kolomayz
|
Geoff has worked in many independent films is known for his ability to create quirky and unique characters.
“I was drawn to its similarity between Closer and American Beauty. This subtle script has an engaging way of looking at the tragic events in a few people's lives and how it effects them in a short period of time. I am particularly drawn to Len. In his attempts to reclaim himself we see the multiple layers of a lost man fumbling in the dark with a surprisingly hopeful outcome. It is a wonderfully nuanced script with many layers. It will be wonderful to play a character of this depth and complexity.” |

Curtis Harrison
|
Dora award winner, Gemini Nominated Curtis Harrison played legendary Canadian downhiller Steve Podborski in "Crazy Canucks" and the lead "Aaron" in the feature film "Taken".
“Once I read Vincent’s script I saw that I would be a perfect fit for this compelling story. I will be a small part in a collection of pieces that weave together in an elegant story that is well crafted, and a joy to read, I am excited to see the finished project. I think Darcy has the potential to be a smoldering, angst ridden young man that has all the undercurrents of a River Phoenix type character.” |

Jonathon Robbins
|
Jonathan fell in love with acting after spending a day in Robin Williams' classroom in Good Will Hunting. Since then, he has starred in dozens of short films, including one by Atom Egoyan, and directed several of his own award-winning productions.
“I love the story; the rich characters and elegant dialogue. It reminds me of my favourite films (Closer, American Beauty, Five Easy Pieces and Me, You and Everyone We Know). It uniquely explores themes which are relevant to me right now.” |
